What is the difference between an artist and rapper

Hip Hop — Hip Hop affects everything that it touches. Hip Hop has a culture. Now look at something like Dr. Dre and everything that NWA did. While they may have been just rappers, what they did affected culture so heavily it created its own wave and greatly affected culture, which makes them one of the definitions of Hip Hop.

Tupac spoke the truth. His music resonated with people because it seemed to be FOR the people. Biggie Smalls rapped about elegant life and coming from rags to riches. His flow and delivery were pristine. Big Pun prided himself on his vocabulary skills and was well known for using rhyming dictionaries and thesauruses to create his raps.

While they were all quite different, all of them affected culture in their own massive way. They all stood for something different in Hip Hop while actually still standing for the same thing.

Now it is completely possible to affect society and not be Hip Hop, but it depends on a lot of factors. I mean could you ever really consider Iggy Azalea Hip Hop? Not really… but she influences society and has a massive fan base.

She was literally an example that you could take a pretty white female and create controversy with her in order to generate buzz and a fan base.

I could talk about the Difference Between Rap And Hip Hop for a long long long article, but the general point has been made above. Always suggest changes, instead of making demands. Never tell the artist that a take was bad, or wrong. Suggest that they build on that take by adding whatever it was you think is lacking. You want the artist to be comfortable, not nervous, or intimidated.

This way you will get the best performance out of them. I don't want to find out that it was something they did which ,I brought to there attention but, they did'nt want to listen or correct whats wrong. They just wanted to leave as is. I just don't want them telling me why you did'nt tell me about it.

I don't want them to think i'm trying to get over on them. I'm trying to build a positive relationship for more business in the future. If they want to proceed I'm open minded to see how it comes out and ties together. Who knows I might be surprised. Is this an EGO thing with Rappers?

Blade can you explain this to me? Your a emcee and a producer. I know some of what I stated may be the true lifestyle for some Rappers but you mean to tell me that they can't take the truth about what there doing wrong on the track? Its not like I have a gun to there head. Some are open minded some are close minded. Mel B said:. Click to expand I argee with all of what you've said because I have experenced it also. Last I heard he stopped writing which, is a shame he had some good lyrics and concepts.

Another guy stayed in the booth for 45mins. This was after some other Rappers and I rewrote his lyrics and told him how to recite it. Now, ask me if he got it right? He insisted on rapping his way eventhought we gave him the gudience that he needed. I don't know. Hey Blade what part of town are you on in H-Town?

I'm on the SW side. Fame Keyz New member. O yea lets not get on singers or matter fact lets not get on female singers At this point i like to work with artist that are young and new to the studio cause if you put a 15 to 18 year kid in a studio and flash a few lights and move a few buttons they think its the best thing to slice bread and are down to listen to what you say thats got to be done to get everything done right.

Most of the time thats the kids with no bills or no major worries they just wanna spit I think they still think its a game or fun or something Man str8 up I don't even work with people like that anymore.. But they better have hella talent for me to even consider.. Like I said earlier.. I usually don't have that problem, cuz theres a level of respect. I don't even like extending nowadays cuz I've been snaked way too many times..

I don't even really waste my time on snakes or egomaniacs anymore.. But thats the same ole story.. I have an example of a cat like that..
