How do awards manchester
Don't miss the deadline for nominations - it's approaching fast: midnight on Sunday 25 July. We were delighted by the success of the Manchester Culture Awards in and ; we knew that the city is alive with creative activity, and the brilliant nominations we received in the first two years of this awards scheme proved that, without a doubt, to be the case. This is your chance to nominate the people, organisations and groups that you think made a creative buzz in Manchester.
Nominees must be based in the city of Manchester not Greater Manchester, but the area covered by Manchester City Council or have a track record of delivering activity for the benefit of the people that live in or visit the city, or that benefits the local economy. Since September , the University of Manchester School Governor Initiative has won a number of regional and national awards. The annual Catalyst Awards recognise innovation and excellence in the Blackboard global community of practice.
In August , the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health widening participation team won a national award from Health Education England for its research into the performance and experience of widening participation students. The National Education Opportunities Network NEON was founded in early as the professional organisation to support those involved in widening access to higher education HE and social mobility and The University of Manchester is a member institution.
We host the party, but we don't decide what happens. Virtually everything about our awards event is borrowed or donated: it varies from year to year but the key thing is we want it to be characterised by collaboration, participation, etc.
But that's just the process. To get an idea of what it's really like on the night, have a look at this video from That's Manchester TV reporting on the Awards. Is there a society committee that have made your Uni experience amazing?
Got a radio show you tune into every week? We want to celebrate the students and staff who have gone above and beyond in all aspects of University life and made a difference in the wider community. Nominations open 23 April at 10am and close 13 May at 8pm. Awards and their criteria are made available to all students and staff at the University of Manchester on the manchesterstudentsunion.
