Can i skip recovery week insanity
Remember, the Insanity workout aims to get you in excellent shape in a mere two months, which requires a lot of commitment and motivation. You must give it your all. You will end up doing more harm than good.
Proper nutrition—a balance of fresh fruits and veggies, clean proteins, good fats, and whole grains—on the other hand, can increase performance and help your body to better tolerate a calorie deficit.
The key to combining a calorie deficit with extreme exercise is to keep that deficit minimal. I myself lost over 20 pounds during the entire insanity program starting off with calories a day and reducing it to towards the end. Your body must be continually subjected to a range of stimuli to consistently improve. Insanity is mostly cardio training whereas P90X is more balanced with strength training. Insanity workout is more a cardio workout lose weight and Insanity Max 30 is more power and resistance training build strength and muscles.
They are more moves in Insanity Max 30 than there is in insanity workout. Insanity Max 30 comes with a diet plan the 21 day fix type of plan. It requires you to push yourself and to use up a lot of energy. If you do not eat, your blood sugar and glycogen levels will be too low. However, if you do Insanity in the mornings, eating a heavy breakfast beforehand could be detrimental to your workout. You can also use the calorie and calorie food blocks to meet your daily caloric requirements.
As noted above, I will do a separate post for all of this shortly, so check back soon. Or if you only came here looking for results, you can check out my pictures page and my measurements page which have already been updated.
As you can see, during Insanity week 5 you are performing the same routine for six days in a row. That routine is core cardio and balance. This workout is still challenging in its own way, but it is significantly slower paced than the other routines that have been completed to date.
In fact, the hip flexor burners and shoulder burners proved to be the only exercises that were truly strenuous for me. Even so, this entire week went by without a hitch, except for struggling with boredom.
I only wish that they would have put it together in such a way as to keep my attention better. That said, I love that halfway through the program we are completely mixing things up.
The change is very welcome and I expect that it will make it that much easier to keep going for another month. However, I feel like this week of rest may have set me back slightly and left me unprepared to start on the max workouts of month 2. But in the end I decided to trust the program and stick to it. I suggest you do the same. With my diet being so low in carbs, I was worried that I might not have enough energy to complete these max workouts. I was as giddy as a schoolgirl on Monday.
It had been 21 days since I had last taken the fit test and my body measurements, and I was really anxious to see where I stood. I will save the details for a follow-up post later today, but rest assured, the results were huge!
In the morning I performed the fit test and was shocked at just how difficult it remains. It truly tests your limits and could be an entire workout routine in-and-of itself. I want you to focus, keep your core strong, keep your energy up and next week we will start it back up. In Insanity recovery week you repeat one single workout session six days in the week — core cardio and balance — with the seventh day set aside for rest.
Rather than finding the repetition boring, I enjoyed the way that I was able to make improvements every session and hang in there to squeeze out a bit more from each session. Although this is recovery week, it is still arduous. But whereas the first month was fast and furious and almost blew my heart and lungs right out of my chest, the slow moves of recovery week are also hard, mainly due to the muscle burn from keeping the form perfect and pushing the muscles to perform slowly.
As I progressed through the six days I definitely improved my form, and my greatest achievement for the week was powering through the shoulder rotations without having to drop my arms. Watch out for them. The final exercise of the session, these burn up your shoulders. To the max! Another cheeky exercise to watch out for in this session is the hip flexor burners, they berned my legs up big time. How many times can you do insanity?
Can I run while doing Insanity? How much weight do you lose doing insanity? Is it OK to workout without shoes?
