The villagers from the Town could be the most heroic, but they were so far away from the Mountain of Misery that news got to them slowly and Scorn would be alerted of them if they tried to stand up against him. The creatures of the Fairy Forest were confident, but they had lost their power over the years making them hardly a threat.

The penguins from the Royal Kingdom were once prosperous and powerful, but they were easily ruined when Scorn turned the entire kingdom to stone.

And those from the Sky Kingdom, while they were certainly powerful and ahead of their time, were trapped in the skies by Scorn and were almost unable to help. Simply put, the only way to defeat Scorn was to reunite the five kingdoms and work together, but this was easier said than done and Gary needed to use the Time Trekker to round up a few more members of his family to help them.

Eventually, they succeeded in getting everyone to work together, but because Scorn was so powerful, they had to use up all of the legendary power in the most powerful sword known — the Thunder Blade — to defeat him. With the dragon conquered, those from the Sky Kingdom teamed with Garianna to lock him back in his own dimension, but they knew that if the he ever returned, they would be in even more danger than before without the Thunder Blade.

As we know, Scorn did manage to break free again in and quickly reverted the island to its medieval form, but once again, the kingdoms joined forces to defeat him and locked him back into his own dimension — this time without the Thunder Blade.
