Pilot frixion how does it work

FriXion gives you all secrets, tips and tricks Write a secret message on a piece of paper. FriXion it! The technology of FriXion ink. FriXion ink contains special microcapsules which hold the colour. The contents of the microcapsule react to extreme changes in temperature.

Launched in with 30 varieties, the Frixion stamp series was expanded to 60 varieties in the following year. Calendar photograph courtesy of Pilot. By contrast, Japanese children generally use wooden or mechanical pencils at school.

It proved to be a successful choice. Frixion pens have become long-term bestselling products in Europe, where they are particularly popular with students happy to be freed from the need for correction fluid. The original Frixion Ball pens with caps left. Frixion retractable-point pens right were launched in Japan in Before putting these products on sale, Pilot had to refine its ink so it would not dry in a pen with no cap.

Microcapsules that form the pigmentation contain an equal mix of three substances: leuco dye that can change between colored and colorless forms, color developer, and color change temperature regulator. One of the most difficult tasks was to increase the temperature range for when the color appeared and disappeared.

The color change temperature regulator is what prevents bonding above a certain temperature, making the color disappear. When you want to make corrections on your page, simply turn around your FriXion pen and rub with the FriXion eraser tip as if using a regular pencil eraser.

Leaving items such as notebooks, homework or paper near heaters, in a car on a hot day or even putting pages through repeated photocopying, can heat the paper sufficiently to make FriXion ink invisible. If you find your page to be empty, simply put it in the freezer for a short period of time. Just as the ink disappears when pages are left in the heat, so can the ink inside the FriXion pens.

If so, try putting your pen in the freezer until it sufficiently cools. After taking your pen out of the freezer and letting it readjust to room temperature, it should write again like new.
